Exciting highlights from the Phacoemulsification Workshop at Sri Aurobindo University on January 6, 2024, organized by the Department of Ophthalmology and guided by Dr (Prof) Shreya Thatte.
A unique blend of conventional and 3D virtual reality phacoemulsification experience in a single-day workshop.
Renowned ophthalmologists, including Dr. Rajeev Choudhari, Dr. O.P. Agarwal, Dr. Suhas Bande, Dr. Shreya Thatte, Dr. Amisha Jain, and Dr. Pragya Prakash, shared their expertise in engaging lectures.
Inaugural ceremony graced by Hon. Dr. Vinod Bhandai, Founder Chairman of SAIMS, Dr. Jyoti Bindal (Vice Chancellor SAU), Dr. Mahak Bhandari, Managing Director of SAIMS, Dr. R.R. Wavare, Dean Sri Aurobindo Medical College & P.G Institute, and Dr. Jayshree Tapadiya, Dean Student Welfare, Sri Aurobindo University.
Dr. Shreya Thatte, Prof. & HOD Department of Ophthalmology, Sri Aurobindo Medical College & P.G Institute introduced the workshop, followed by insightful words from Dr. Vinod Bhandari and Dr. Jyoti Bindal.
Delegates delved into the intricacies of the phaco-machine and surgical steps before hands-on sessions with wax eyes for conventional phacoemulsification and 3D virtual reality phaco.
Post-hands-on sessions, delegates engaged in group discussions and doubt-clearing sessions with esteemed guest faculty, including Dr. Urvija Choudhary, Dr. Sapan Palod, Dr. Shlok Singh, and Dr. Mayan Gupta.
Delegates from across Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra found the workshop enlightening, practical, and invaluable. The workshop concluded with a Valedictory ceremony and certificate distribution, marking a successful day of learning and collaboration.
